Very impressed! It’s rare that I will spend $50 on a cat item so I was a little skeptical, especially because this folds up for storage. I was pleasantly surprised by the weight and sturdiness. The assembly was pretty easy and I like how neatly it packs away. I bought this for our vacation house so I could put it away when we are renting the place out. The cats totally approve and so do I!

I got this bed for my kitty who loves to hide inside and under anything she can squeeze her little body into. She usually hates any bed I buy her. She will not lay in a flat bed. She LOVES this bed. It took a little encouragement with treats, but it quickly became her new hiding spot. She loves to lay inside and on top! It is very sturdy and well-made. It is not falling down. The plush padding is comfy and soft for her. However, the pom-poms inside are a little useless. The strings they’re attached to aren’t long enough to play with them. My cat doesn’t even know they’re there. I pulled on one thinking it was folded up and would be longer, but it ripped right out. If the pom-poms were placed in a better location, she would play with them. But I love this bed nonetheless! It is better than anything I have found in stores, and I looked everywhere.

When I bought this I think I paid $30. It’s definitely worth that. It is sturdy, and looks nice. As all we cat ladies know, all cats are different. So some people’s cat or cats might love this and some might not. We have 7 cats, and they think it’s “ok”. They go and play in the cave part sometimes, but not much. Mainly, we just use the cave part as storage for all of their toys. If our cats are using this at all, they prefer to be on top, though their #1 choice is always this hammock http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00EPXXOY2/ref=twister_B00KQBIB18?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1. All 7 of them LOVE that one. This one will do for them if they have lost the battle to get to the hammock that they really want. It looks nice, and would make for a good ottoman. For the price of $25 – $30, I’d say, good deal. But it is selling for $40 and over now, and not so much worth that much money. Might as well go ahead and buy the cat tree or hammock the kitties really want, at that price.

I ordered this for my 1 yr old kitty because we kept buying the cheap cardboard ones at store and then had to take it away because they were falling apart, plus they were always these ugly colors. She got depressed because she didn’t have anything anymore because I didn’t want to keep buying the same thing but I didn’t want to pay for those tree ones with such a small hole in the bases. I seen this one and I just ordered it. It’s perfect. I love that It was a color I could match with my furniture and it’s big and sturdy. It can fold down and be put away or packed away easily when we move soon to another base. My kitty loves it she goes in without having to squeeze in lots of room or sits on top lounging. One of the best things I have bought for my baby so far.

Love this cube – it is strong and well made. No chance of this collapsing in on itself. I’m adding a blanket to the bottom to make it super comfy for my little girl. She’s 18 now and fragile. But she will love this, as she’s not a fan of heights – odd for a cat, I know.. but she’s never been a climber – never jumped up on counters, the table, or anything except the bed to say night night. This product is really well made and solid – I’m impressed.

My cat is a typical cat who turns his nose up at cat furniture … however it has been over a year…. he still likes / uses this on a regular basis…key points:- located at a sliding glass door that looks over the back yard (thus endless hours of ‘cat TV’ with birds, squirrels and other critters- cat is always on top of the ‘house’ never inside (okay if I put cat nip inside he might venture in for a moment but never long and and never to sleep)- I think the cat nip helped promote initial interest but the cat tv is probably the biggest draw

I like this, though I’m not sure my new cat feels the same way. Just got him last week though, so the jury is still out as he’s getting used to his new surroundings. The box itself seems pretty sturdy, though it’s basically made like one of those pop-up fabric boxes you can store linens or things in. It’s just got faux-suede/microfiber covering with some fluffy stuff on the inside and the top of the lid. The walls and lid are just made of sturdier stuff, probably some kind of thick cardboard? Minus one star for me because the inside “wool” or fluff is super thin and I can’t imagine it would be comfortable like a bed. I put some blankets inside to help. Now, if only my cat would use it. He seems more interested in hiding under furniture and in the closet, or sitting on the air conditioner window unit to look out the window, than hiding inside this box or using it as the nifty window seat I set up for him. Cats… 🙂

There’s no real need for a ‘portable’ cat cube, at least not for the average owner. So, that feature doesn’t really make much of a difference to me. But what does matter to me is that my cats love this item and I bought it again for a family member’s cat and that cat loves it too. There is a lot for a cat to like about this product, whether from the cushiony top, to the spacious cube. My only complaint is that, since it’s ‘portable’, the walls and floor of the cube are somewhat thin so a cat might prefer a softer place to nap, but other than that, I’ve had this item about a year now and it is still in good condition, doesn’t have any holes or anything.
Tiffany Flowers –
My boyfriend and I recently adopted our cat Bracks. We wanted to make sure he add his own space and lots of room to nap/lounge. We decided to get him this. When I received the Cat Cube I was disappointed that there was no pre-existing hole for the cat toy it shows on the side. I’d have to drill through it or push it through so we just decided to keep it off as a floor toy. However, it was incredibly easy to set-up otherwise. Sadly, Bracks isn’t super fond of the Cat Cube. He really only goes into the “cave” if we’re playing with him and he only likes to sit on the top if it’s closer to us. So if your cat is a people person and prefers laps, they probably won’t use this as often as you’d like.

I bought this for my cat because she wouldn’t let the dog lay in his crate because she wanted to lay in it. Put this on top of the crate and she has happily switched from his crate to this. She is 9 lbs and has plenty of room. She loves this…she is almost always either in it or on top of it. She has a lot of places to nap in our house, but this is by far her favorite spot. It was a great buy and now both animals have their own napping spot and there is harmony in the house again.

It’s a huge hit! My cat loves laying on it, in it, playing with it, bringing her toys into it, and most of all she loves that crinkly noise it makes when she moves on it. And she likes the cute grey box that came with her brown paper, too. But seriously…This was my cat’s 10th birthday present. She really likes sitting on top of it. She’s a 10 lb cat and fits snuggly (as a cat likes). She took to it right away. Granted, the brown paper it was wrapped in was an even bigger hit, but cats will be cats. It’s classy looking, as far as cat furniture goes. That’s why I got it, so both my cat and I could enjoy it.My one complaint is that the inside is not very padded. I expected something more cushy at this price point. I added a memory foam pad and a small cat bed, and my cat seems more willing to lay in it now. We’ll see when winter comes, when I’m guessing she’ll make the shift from top to bottom.

I keep buying things that I’m sure my picky cats will love. This is nice for the price, sturdy and looks nice. One cat has been in it once. ????. I just don’t know what to try for my cats anymore.Certainly no fault of the product. It looks nice and is sturdy enough for my large Maine Coon cat.

We have a 23 YO one-eyed diva mutt cat whom we adore. She was an indoor-outdoor cat from the beginning, doesn’t get along with our indoor-only cats, and strolls to the front door immediately after she gets up every morning. She keeps a watch on the front of the house, immediately greeting anyone who shows up and doesn’t go any further these days than the driveway; We don’t have the heart to force her inside when she loves it out; at her age, well…she’s deserved to do what she wants. We bought one of these last year for the front porch for cooler days, put a cat heating pad in it with a soft blanket on top. She loves it. Just bought another for use in the garage–her second favorite place–for when it’s too cold on the porch. She’s a great old girl, and she love these. For the price, EXTREMELY durable.
Mark&Jamie –
This cube is great, it’s got a pretty decent sized opening I think even a bigger cat could hunker down in. We have a small-medium sized tortico cat and she loves laying on the top part. We got a jungle tube that even fits inside the hole and sometimes we get her to run into the cube through the tube and she enjoys it but doesn’t get in it as much as she gets on it. It’s a good addition to our little kitty area and she is still warming up to it I think. But I’m happy, it’s strong enough to hold my kid even. Very sturdy for being portable. Good little cube for kittties and the toy balls are a bonus.

So cute! My cats love this and it’s somewhat stylish ( for being a piece of cat furniture.) Nice and sturdy. The inside pad isn’t as cushioned as I thought it would be but over all a fantastic product!

My cat loves this box. It takes less than 2 minutes to put it together (excluding the outside dangle ball) and my cat was in it and playing with the interior dangle ball before I had finished. He LOVES it.How its constructed: The interior of the walls are made of a thin (maybe 1/8th) firm material – I think it’s wood, but there was no way to see inside. They are covered by a soft exterior cloth that joins all four walls together. There are two floors. The first one is a canvas that attaches to the wall material and the walls and this floor are shipped in an accordion fashion and flat. The second floor is the one you can see in the picture – it is a thicker hard material – again, I couldn’t see inside to tell you what and it is thicker than the walls. It is surrounded by a furry material, making it softer for the cat to lay on. When you go to put the cube together, you open up the walls so that it forms a space inside, and then insert the fuzzy floor into it. The fuzzy floor acts as a separator and very firmly keeps the walls apart. The padded seat then sits on top of the walls and floor.

My cat loves it. She doesn’t go inside that much but sits & sleeps on top. She loves to play with the balls that hang down. I purchased the mushroom color & it goes perfectly with my greige decor. It’s constructed better than expected for the price. I would definitely purchase again

This is working well in several ways. First, I purchased this for a specific purpose. My 15 year old cat is having trouble jumping up on our bed lately, it takes her 2 or 3 tries now. This condo is half the distance to the top of the bed so I thought it would make it easier for her to jump to the condo and then to the bed. The cat condo does serve this purpose which make me so happy. I would have been completely satisfied with just this. But…..she also LOVES sleeping in the condo. She has actually spent less time on her normal cat/dog bed and less time in bed with us in order to spend time sleeping in this condo. She is 13 pounds and this is more than sturdy enough to handle her jumping onto and launching off of, built well.

I want you to know this is a perfectly nice cat ottoman. The color, a rich brown. The texture, a luxurious velvet. It was easy to assemble and fits my decor flawlessly. Ordinary, I would give this item five stars, as it suited my needs, as a cat owner. My cats, however, do not seem to enjoy this box. I don’t get it. I thought they would enjoy a nice hiding place, out of the way and incognito, now that we have a 70 pound rottweiler in the house. For some reason, they just couldn’t be bothered. Not one of the three has used the box that I can tell some the night we put it together. When the dog comes in, they still scatter, and that only gets the dog going.I guess cats will be cats, though. You really can’t have expectations, beyond their basic needs.

Best $30 I’ve spent. My kitties love this ottoman duplex so much. It’s collapsible so it’s easy to travel with. Very soft material and roomy in the inside. The bottom cat is my 20 pound part Bengal boy and he loves sleeping in there. He can sit up in too which I was relieved to see him comfortably do. My 10 pound tortie loves sleeping on top, she also fits perfectly on that part. Sometimes she’ll play with the balls hanging from the sides. They both sit on top during the day to look out the bedroom window. Wonderful duplex for 2 kitties.

First off, what I really love about this is how thick and sturdy the walls and upper platform are. I have a 15lb Maine Coon and he’s much too big for most cat perches. He fit in this one, both inside and on top. It was his favoritest spot to sit. Until 4am this morning, when, as I sat watching him while dealing with insomnia, he proceeded to climb up on top of it and pee right into the corner of it. WTF kitty????!!!!! Sadly it is now in the dumpster. BUT it is an awesome cube and I’d buy it again if it weren’t for my naughty kitty.

Munchkin loves this bed! I put it together, which took all of about 3 minutes, including putting a little bit of catnip in the bottom so she knew this was someplace she could go. I put the bed next to Munch’s old bed, then went back in the house to cut up the cardboard box it came in and gather up the packing material for the trash. By the time I got back from the trash she was already in the bed and sound asleep. She hasn’t come out since and that was a couple of hours ago. In case anyone is wondering, it’s plenty big enough inside. Munchkin isn’t a small kitty, she weighs about 9 – 10 lbs. But there is plenty of space inside for her to fit comfortably. The top part looks a little small, but she loves climbing on top of things like her last bed, which is now flat because she kept laying on it and it wasn’t sturdy enough to hold her. This one is definitely sturdy enough, so I’m sure she will eventually climb on top of this one, as well. And while it’s not a huge area on top, it’s really soft with a nice outside boarder to hold her in and I think she will fit. It’s amazing how cats always want to cram their bodies into the smallest possible space. I guess it’s a security thing. Anyway, kitty loves the bed and I guess that’s all that matters.

I bought this for our Community Cat Rudy. A feral cat that has been caught, neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped, ear-marked and returned to our neighborhood. It was very easy to assemble. It seems sturdy. I put it outside for Rudy. It took a few months for him to call it home (maybe due to his trap experience). Now he seems to love it. It is his go-to cat nap spot. I feel better knowing he has a cozy place in the world. It has held up well for months outside shaded under a patio umbrella in our side yard.

My cat who literally hates these things, loves it! I sprinkled a little cat nip in there and he is in heaven. It comes with two cute little hanging ball toys and the little windows for them to peek out. The top is a soft plush. He has not found that spot yet but loves the dark Ness inside of the little cube. Highly recommend. My cat who literally hates these things, loves it! I sprinkled a little cat nap in there and he is in heaven. I’ve had this cat condo for a little over a week, and it seems to be a fav for my cat. She didn’t hesitate to go inside or on top of it, and now calmly rests on it for most of the day. The condo is okay looking, like it doesn’t make my living room look bad, and I’m mostly hoping it just stays in one piece and still looks okay a year or two from now. But all things considered it wasn’t too pricey and the cat seems very happy, so I give it two thumbs up.

Very easy to assemble. I put this together this morning and along with the paper packaging from Amazon, my cats are having a blast. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this playhouse not like others that i have purchased in the past. The cats haven’t been on top yet but they have been playing with the attached balls and have been in and out of it all morning. The front hole size is very nice and not intimidating to fraidy cat kitties. Nice fleece material inside and on top. If they get bored with it (I doubt it) then I love the fact that i can fold it up and put away for a few months. I got this on a lightening deal at a very good price. I may by another

I had been looking for a cat house for quite some time. I knew the general height that I wanted, and that I didn’t want some huge, sprawling, cheesy looking thing. This is perfect! It has two cozy spots for my cat to snuggle into and a comfy top perch. It is well made, it was easy to assemble, reasonably priced, and it looks nice too. It is light enough for me to pick up and move around to different spots as well. When I first got it, I put a snack in each spot so he would feel comfortable checking it out. I highly recommend this product!!

The Cube is made very well, but it is far too small for a grown cat. (The photo is very misleading. The cat in the photo is either photo-shopped or is a very mature looking kitten.) And by grown cat, I am referring to a range of 9 to 11 pounds. I have four cats varying in age; all are rescued, mixed breeds. This item was purchased about 5 months ago, so it has had plenty of time to “air out.” (The Cube arrived with a strong glue smell.) The glue smell has since left and I have put my cats’ bedding both inside the cube and on top of it, hoping that their own scent would entice them. They won’t go near it. If by any chance this review is seen by the manufacturer, I would also add that cats like an escape route. Possibly if the cube were larger and had an exit hole, it would not appear so claustrophobic.

This was a good buy. Its pretty much exactly what you’d expect from the picture and description. My cat is definitely happy with it! It has a bit of a chemical smell at first (which is pretty normal), so I’d let it air out without the top for a day or 2.My only complaint is that the inside base, where the cat lays, is just a hard piece with a super thin fabric coating. I wish it was some sort of pillow or had any amount of fluffiness to it, because the way it comes the cat is essentially laying on a hard floor with no padding. I ended up putting some towels inside to make it more comfortable.

This item is not as pictured. It only comes with ONE cutout on each side (top only). I reached out to the manufacturer, Midwest Homes for Pets, to see if I received a defect. Nope. According to the woman who replied to my inquiry they have changed their product. They need to update the description and photos as I was expecting to get 4 cutouts and purchased the item specifically because it had so many. Further, there was a chemical smell on the inside of the box. It has not subsided after a few days. Giving it a couple of stars because my cat does enjoy playing with the plush balls inside the cutouts.

My diva cat is so finicky. I was pleasantly surprised when she went inside the cube and took a nap. I placed her on top and she liked it. Now she naps on the lid. I like that when she is inside the cube I can lift the lid to see her. She has the illusion of being able to hide, but not really (smile). I bought the chocolate color. It is sturdy and beautiful. Easy to clean with a lint roller and hand vacuum.

I am in love with this cat cube. However, my cat that I bought it for is not that crazy about it. I love the little hanging toy fur ball on the inside and the one that can be installed on the outside. I didn’t install the separate one because he found it more fun to slap across the floor with his paw. The material on the outside is very soft like suede and the inside comes with a covered cardboard piece to put at the bottom as a floor. The top is a nice soft fleece-like bedding and only room for one cat…or 2-3 kittens comfortably. Overall, it is a very nice addition to the home for the cat…if he/she ever uses it. And I have it in front of a window and it’s still a no go. I guess it isn’t tall enough for my cat.

Nice little box for the cat to sit on. My cat doesn’t play much inside, but does seem to enjoy having the elevated sitting position. For the money, I was pretty impressed with the feel and sturdiness of the materials. The box ships flat, and you unfold it then put the top “lid” on it to keep it opened. Plenty strong while still being easy to move. The whole thing is covered in a soft, felt-like material that some cats may easy shred apart. The inner pillow is removable for cleaning. The little ball toys didn’t last long for my cat though, she ripped them off the string within a couple weeks. There’s 2 ball toys with brackets that your supposed to screw into the side – but they don’t include the screws (minus 1 star) . I ended up never installing them, since the cat still played with them.I think it’s worth the money if your looking for something like this and don’t want to spend too much cash.

Both of my cats love to lounge in or on this cube. They have found that playing through the side holes are a good time. For my cave dweller, we put this up so it was elevated and now he can be in his cave and feel safe and still hang out with the rest of the family. For my older guy, he loves to take a snooze on the top. Both are larger boys, and both fit inside without any issues. In fact, they once tried to both be in at the same time (it’s not quite big enough for that). We’ve had no safety issues or concerns with the sturdiness or design of this product. Also didn’t notice any smells after opening. Supervised both the first few times they interacted with it to make sure there were no problems. We were looking for a smaller, lighter piece of cat furniture that could easily be moved or stowed and this was the perfect fit.

Because of the low price, I was skeptical that it would be a quality product. I was proven wrong! This cat cube was an immediate hit with our three cats and us. Very easy to assemble, sturdy, and attractive. Will likely need to use a lint brush on it to keep the shed cat-hair collection from overwhelming its looks, but that’s an easy thing to remedy. Totally recommended (by the cats and humans in the house)!

I love this MidWest Curious Cat Cube/Cat House/Cat Condo — it’s beautiful and has thick edges and works as an ottoman. But the 9-1/2″ middle cushion is smaller than what my 18″ (plus tail) cat is used to, so it took him a few days to prefer it. This Cat House/Cat Condo/Ottoman is pretty and sturdy but is best for small cats, in my opinion.

We have a very picky cat that didnt like the cat tree we had, but she loves this box. Just after a day or 2 she got super comfortable (without catnip) with this box. I threw her toys inside, but I haven’t witnessed her going in yet. I watched her play & claw with the outside and she loves the balls. This is very much worth her staying away from MY recliner where she’s not allowed. It’s been less than a week, so far so good. ????

This cube is as described and so easy to put together. I have purchased other cubes over the years and this one is by far the sturdiest, most plush and easiest to put together. It did not even require tools or complicated instructions (been there, done that in the past). A 5 year old could put this together. This cube should be the last one I will ever need as it seems very durable. I also love that it just has one big opening. Other cubes have big holes on all sides, but with the one big opening my cats can make a little den in this one. And after years of buying cat products I have come to realize that a lot of products are made for much smaller cats even though every cat I know is not tiny in adulthood. My cats are by no means fat or huge. They are medium sized, but this cube would be appropriate for even a big, fat cat. It is great and actually costs less than crappy ones I have purchased at big name stores. This one is the best!

Mr. Fuzzy is my special needs 20lb tuxey. He is pretty picky and not the cat I purchased this for but he is the one who has taken over the top of it. I woke him with the flash on accident but he enjoys snoring away on top. My smaller cat typically sleeping on the inside and seems to really enjoy it. The play balls didn’t stay attached long but have made the rounds around the house and as toys have heald up pretty well. Easy to put together and so far a win!

I like it and my cats like it too. The cats liked it as soon as I set it up. They liked the hanging balls. The cube I received was not like what is pictured. I do not have a hanging ball outside the box. Both balls were already installed in the side openings and there was no bell attached to the balls as the packing material indicates there should be. I consider that a good thing based on other reviews I read. The bells could have become a safety hazard for my cats so I do not miss them. The cube was extremely easy to set up, the material used is very nice and this cube will look very nice in any decor. I have not seen my cats use the top yet, but I can see it is very sturdy. The only complaint I have is an odor from the materials used. It is a spicy order that I believe in time will dissipate. So if you can get this at the sale price, I would recommend this cube for your cats. It is a good bargain and you will be happy with your purchase.

This was really easy to put together. Although there were very detailed instructions with pictures, they really weren’t needed. The sides seem pretty lightweight, so time will tell how durable it is. Kitty seems to think it’s pretty comfortable. She’s been spending hours on the top ever since we set it up.

Using it in my basement for two feral cats who spent the winter there because it snowed so much that there was no where else for them to go to survive. They couldn’t leave until the snow melted enough to allow them to do a little exploring, again. Now they seem to think it’s home. One of them has become partly tame and comes into the house to “hang out” with my son on his waterbed, get brushed, eat, and sleep. His girlfriend is still very feral and looks like she’d like to come into the house but doesn’t dare. Too bad. She’d love it.Recently donated the Curious Cat Cube to a cat rescue organization called SAFER. My feral cats wouldn’t use it because it had only one entrance and they need another way out if threatened. It still looked like new.

my kitty only recently started actually using this – he sat in it a few times when it first arrived, and lately he has been enjoying lying on top. however, to say that he LOVED the jingly ball toys that came with it would be a MASSIVE understatement. I immediately cut them off the cube because I assumed he would have a better time being able to chase them around vs just batting at them. He loved the sh*t out of those things until they completely disintegrated. Honestly I wish there was a way to just buy those jingle balls in bulk. But anyway the product itself is very well made, looks comfy and was very easy to set up!

I purchased this item for my cats over a year ago and put it in different spots in the house hoping one of them would use it: Book case, quiet corner, desk with view out the window, etc., no luck. To get it out of the way I put it on top of a high cabinet in the mud room. Do they now climb the step ladder to get on the cabinet and use it to survey the world, play with the fuzzy toys and sleep? Sometimes they fight over who is king so I did tape it to the cabinet but it stands up well to the abuse of them pouncing on it.

Both my cats love these boxes. My male cat especially loves them. He climbs into bags and boxes all the time. It’s really cute. So, I decided to get both him and his sister these boxes. There’s no assembly. There’s not only a hole for them to crawl into the box, but there’s a cushy pad on top for them to lay on. So happy I bought these. Both brother and sister spend a lot of time on or in them.
Countess Chocula –
I was torn between three and four stars and ultimately decided with four based mostly on the potential of the cube once the weather cools. We didn’t have a good start with it; when I pulled it out of the box and did a quick assembly to see how much space I’d need to clear on the cat’s Wall of Large Toys, she dove into it. I hadn’t had a chance to air it out and the smell was awful; it ended up taking nearly a week to get rid of it. After that, she would sniff at the opening and turn away. It took about a month before she’d nap in it, but only for an hour or so a day. For now, she’s much happier sleeping on her open bed on the ground floor of her cat tower near a floor vent.In the winter she’s always been likely to nest in bins and blankets so I think she’ll be happier with it then. It’s a cute cube and a good size for her. She’s about 8 lbs. and there’s plenty of room for her to drag some toys and even a little blanket in.

Very cute cat home, and the brown happens to match our living room perfectly. The cat hasn’t started playing with it yet, but I know she’ll love it once we start throwing treats in there. Super easy to “assemble”, you just pop up the sides and insert the bottom board into the house. Love that it has little toys packaged with it that are attached to the house. My only negative would be that you can’t throw the pieces into the washing machine. Will need to be vacuumed out to be cleaned. Kind of a pain with a long hair cat, but we can deal with it.Very cute!

This cube is smaller than what they claim it is. Mine is about 14 1/2 x 14 1/2. The height was accurate. With that said it is well made. The small holes on the side are a hit with my cats. The balls hanging on it are fun for them but will not last as my cats will pull them off soon. The ball that comes on a post that you are supposed to screw on…..I did not put this on. I thought the screws were too long and would poke threw and be a danger to my cats. I zipped tied it onto their cat tree so it was not a waste. I used wire cutters and removed the bells as I feel those could be swallowed or their nails could get caught in it.

My husband ordered this cube for our two kittens to provide a place to sit in the sun and also to hide. It was such a hit with both that we ordered another. The only negative is that the brown plush fabric texture tends to attract and show hair. The pros far outweigh this con, so no stars subtracted. It was easy to put together and fairly sturdy considering the pop up assembly. It is on the light side and they did tip it over in the beginning, but it only happened when they were first getting used to it.

Very sturdy and easy to assemble. My cats bolted inside once it was set up. The cubbies are very tall and gives my 17 pound boy a lot of room to move around. My girl has been sleeping away inside, and she normally doesn’t like being inside small places. I saw in previous reviews that there were holes on the side that kittens were getting their heads stuck in and I was a little worried about that but this version does not have the holes so there is nothing to worry about.

My cat and I really like this. He went right inside as soon as I set it up, and he sleeps on top of it often. He also loves to play with the toys hanging from it, but I appreciate another reviewer’s caution about the possibility of claws getting caught in the bells. I am considering removing them.My cube did not come with the attached hanging toy, but I am okay with that. I am in a small space and would probably just bark my shins on it, so I did not complain. But you may not be okay with missing parts, and I wouldn’t blame you. Still, for us, this is a five star product. I love that it folds down for easy storage or transport and is so easy to set up. I especially like how much my cat likes it, and that it allows him to sit next to me in my chair so I can pet him easily. It is truly a bargain for us.

Purrfect ! Our cat is getting older and could no longer jump up on to our bed. Now she jumps up onto this and then can easily get onto the bed which is her primary sleeping spot. She also now sleeps inside of her new house on occasion or on top of it and plays with the balls that hang in the windows. There is also a separate attachment to hag an additional ball externally, but we don’t use that. It has good weight to it so is pretty solid. It’s against the side of our bed on the pillow end so it never moves when she jumps on it. I’ve had it in other locations where it was not against anything and when she jumped on it, it did not move. No smells, no surprises and no problems and our cat loves it.Really a great invenstment.

This is a pretty nice mini condo for my cats. I bought the two story one and both of my cats can fit in the cubbies. One of my cats is pretty big, last weighed 18lbs and she seems to fit in them, not crazily comfortably but decent enough. This is super unstable though in that it will tip over if your cat jumps on to it. My little one seemed to do it with minimal wobble, but she weighs maybe 7 lbs of that. I put a 25lb weight under the bottom bed and it works pretty good. Now my big cat can jump onto it safely for the most part, the top part still moves but it doesn’t tip over. And you honestly cannot tell there’s a weight under it so that’s nice. Overall good product, my cats like it and use it.

Five stars is supposed to mean “I love it.” But let us be clear, I do not necessarily love this brown cube. In fact, I hide it when the cats are away, sleeping, or otherwise occupied. But the cats, especially the younger set, really dig this cube. They sat and watched my wife open the box and ventured into, on top of, and around the cube as soon as we had it set up and ready. It’s now a common sight to find one cat on top of and another inside of this cube, playing, sleeping, or, in their minds only, hiding. It is easy to move when company (humans) are visiting, and it provides entertainment and comfort for the felines. A friend saw our cats romping around this one, ordering one, and noted that his cats were similarly invested in their new cube. All in all, this is a cool cat cube!

This is a sturdy cat cube, but it is NOT what is depicted on Amazon or on the instruction card attached to it. It is clearly shown as having two cut-outs on each side, but what we received has only one on each side. This makes it not particularly useful for the kind of play that our cat enjoys. Not what was advertised, not what I paid for. Look elsewhere if the cut-outs are important to your cat. Returning.

I previously had a leather footstool under my desk, but my ferrets just loved to bite and chew on it. Finally I gave up and moved it to another room, but I still wanted to have something I could put my feet on. This cat cube did the trick! My ferret girls absolutely love this hidey house, both to play in, and to curl up and sleep. They scratch at this footstool much less than the other one, and the scratching and biting that they DO do, is having much less of an effect on the fabric. (i.e. They’re not destroying it.) I put a small blanket in the bottom for extra padding, and to give the girls something to snuggle under. Overall this thing is great, would totally buy it again!

Great product. My cat loves it, so I love it. Sturdy enough for him to jump on top of and cozy enough for him to curl up inside. Supposed to be a cat Christmas present, but I couldn’t wait to set it up for him. Gosh, I just don’t know how he got so spoiled… So glad it’s a nice warm brown color. So many products for cats have giant tiger stripes, or giant leopard spots. One small problem that was easily solved. Somebody else mentioned their cat’s claw getting stuck inside a ball and the cat had to be rescued. Same here. I did what that reviewer did, and simply cut the balls off the cat cave, and never attached the one that was to hang on the outside of the cave. Not to be deterred, my cat grabbed hold of one of the balls by the elastic cord, took the bell into his mouth, and pulled at it with his teeth! I squealed, yes, squealed, ran over and carefully removed the bell from his mouth. Leave it to a cat to zero in on something that could potentially harm them. So with a little preventative snipping of bell-wielding elastic cords off of balls, this cat cave can be greatly enjoyed by both cats and their humble staff people. P.S. Once the cords and bells are removed, the balls are safe and fun to bat under a couch, bookcase, stove, bed, behind a toilet, etc. and send staff people to retrieve like the suckers we are.

A cute cube and sturdy. A large cat may need a larger cube- our cat in the picture is not heavy and a small-medium size. Our cats don’t gravitate to enclosed spaces and are more likely to sit next to it than go inside the cube. I would recommend this for a small cat or a kitten that would be more likely to play with the hanging toys and sit inside the cube.
Chris94 –
My cats sleep on it occasionally but not so often. The top doesn’t seem to be as comfortable as it looks, there’s really no padding or much fluff if you feel it, it’s just hard. One of two of my cats will go down low, the other hates it. They also have never played with the toys or through the holes.Overall it’s decent, and when they don’t use it I get an extra foot rest!

My cats like it, i have it on my desk since they are always trying to be next to me at the PC. i put towels inside since the material they lay on is not removeable or washable. the opening is big and i think a maine coon could fit. it has stopped the fighting at my desk

A winner here. Very easy to put together (basically unfold and stock the floor and roof on…no tools needed. My little buddy loves sitting on the top and fluffing the cushion with his paws. He also loves sitting inside and grabbing at the furry ball things hanging in the holes, but unfortunately I needed to cut them off (he has a bad habit of eating and gnawing at string; also each of the fur balls has a little metal bell attached to it….he would chew that off and perhaps eat it in no time flat). Although I’ve seen him sitting on top once in awhile, I have never seen him hanging out inside, perhaps it’s too confining…not sure.Has a nice look top it….velour looking covering, padded inside and on top and VERY sturdy. Well worth the $29 (which included free shipping with PRIME). Looks decent in the house, not junky. Although I hope he uses this more, my little buddy goes through phases, so I may just end up using this as an inexpensive ottoman.

I love it, but more importantly, my cats love it, too! I knew my cats would appreciate a good place to scratch, snuggle, hide, and play with the toys. But I had no idea how much they would love it! From the day it was unwrapped, my 2 year-old (formerly feral), indoor cats were enthralled 24/7. They took turns sharing the comfy resting place on top. They loved being on it or in it so much, that I purchased a second one, so they’d have more space. This is one of the best presents I’ve ever bought for my cats! It is super easy to assemble – basically a pop-up and pop-on construction design (no tools needed), lightweight, and it even has a handle for carrying! The fabric is soft, durable, a delicious color, and easy to clean. The puffball toys are securely attached, and the fabric on the top rest and inside spot is very soft and durable. Highly recommended!!

Our cat loves to be around us now that we’re home due to COVID, but now she doesn’t have to sit on our keyboards, the floor or a chair like a common peasant cat. She is a queen and loves her window box. She has barely left it since it arrived and I set it up for her. Super easy setup. It holds her 14lb butt securely. Surprisingly sturdy and heavier than expected. Now I have to get one for my husband’s office.
Justine VictoriaJustine Victoria –
It set up super easily, it’s surprisingly sturdy, and most importantly, my cat went RIGHT to it. She loves being inside it, pawing at the two little pom poms that dangle through two little holes in the sides. She also loves sitting on top of it (which was the real reason I got it) because she can look out the window. She sleeps on it, she sleeps in it. If I could make any changes, I would want a gray interior instead of black, but only because my cat is gray and it’s already covered in her fur. But really, aside from that little aesthetic choice I’d have, this thing is perfect for Minnie!

If you get this for twenty bucks or less, it’s a good deal. For what it is — fold-up cardboard with a lid — it’s actually quite sturdy, has good covering and padding where it’s supposed to, and has a decent top and inside floor for kitties to sleep. It took my then-8 week-old kittens a week or so to warm up to it, but they enjoy trying to tear the balls out through the windows (there are two) and one kitty likes to sleep on top. I have this in close proximity to a cat tree and the kitties seem to like making this cube part of the overall adventure.

I thought this was a very good value for the money also it is very attractive and it seem to be perfect – however three of the cats that I have would not have anything to do with it no matter what I did . I donated it to someone else with a new kitten and an older cat and I was so sad because I love it and it is very nice .Not one of my three cats would have anything to do with this beautiful bed.

We have three cats and one of them would like to be an only cat. We wanted to get her a special place just for her so we bought the cube and she loves it. During the day she lays on the top and during the night she sleeps inside of it. We did end up putting another bed inside as well as the base it came with only because the base is a little hard. That is the reason for only 4 stars I wish it were as padded as the top. After putting the bed in is when she fell in love with it. We didn’t attach the third ball, she is content with the ones that are already attached.Updated: I just ordered my second one of these due to jealousy between my cats. My other female cat keeps trying to take this from the one that wants to be an only cat so I ordered her one as well. I may end up going to a third as well but our third cat is a Maine Coon and although he has gotten in the first one he doesn’t seem to like it as well as my girl cats do, we shall see what happens with the second one arrives.

I have 3 cats, 2 female and 1 male. Females are 13 & 10yrs old. The Male is 5.The first week they all went into it to check it out. Now they don’t care about it. Maybe once a week my 13yr old will nap on top. The other 2 never got on top.Personally I love the way it looks in the livingroom. It seems well made and has a good design. I think i like it more than my picky cats do lol

Immediate hit! I have a 10, almost 11 month old kitten who loves to stalk and hunt toys. As soon as I set this cube up, he was all over it. He loves the dangly toys on the side — he attacks them from the outside, from the inside, and from the top. Seems great for a young cat and there’s no problem with it holding his weight. A really great product for the price.Photo is from when he finally stopped moving long enough to take a picture.

Several things, but first, I love it! The shipping box was very large – a long and not too deep but also wide – and I put on the kitchen floor before getting it into the recycling where I tripped over it. My fault, not the vendor’s, but still an annoyance. The cube comes in three pieces: the cube itself which is folded flat, the bottom piece for inside the cube, and the top cozy square. There are two hanging fluffy balls inside the cube for kitties to play with, and an additional hanging ball to screw into the cube wherever one wants (I put it just over the large oval opening where the cats get into the cube); the cats play with them all. The cat cube is just as it looks – colors are true and the fabric is soft to the touch. Despite being of heavy cardboard, the cube appears to be sturdy and so far has handled lots of kitty attention.

I have three cats and two of them love this cat cube. The third cat is older and is kind of stuck in her ways. It would be cool to have more colors but it does what it needs too.I have bought two of these cubes so far and the cats use them constantly. My 14 lb cat sleeps on top of the cube every night and it holds up perfectly. The cube ships and arrives folded inside of itself. It goes together simply by opening the box and grabbing the loops that are attached. It’s easy to keep clean and the material so far is very durable.I literally have no issues or complaints with this cat cube. It is exactly as advertised and the cats love it. I wouldn’t mind more colors or for a lower price but those are wishes, not complaints or issues. For anyone that has a cat or a small dog I can highly recommend this for purchase! 5 ☆☆☆☆☆

I have to admit, when I saw how these assembled, I didn’t have high expectations for quality. But they exceeded my expectations. They are extremely easy to assemble, and much sturdier than I expected. The entrance hole is big enough that my 15 pound foster cat can easily climb in. Having read other reviews, we did cut off the little attached balls. We didn’t want to risk stuck claws. I would definitely buy one again and would highly recommend them to other people

I had another little fold up ottoman I bought on amazon I was using with a cat bed on top for my 17 year old granny cat. I needed the ottoman, but she liked sitting up high so I figured I’d try this one. It seemed like the most sturdy cat ottoman I could find on amazon. When it arrived I was amazed at the quality of it. It’s surprisingly really heavy duty. The inside cushion isn’t very cushioned so I put one of her little beds in there. The top does seem very comfortable for her though. Now that it’s cold she would rather sit in my lap, but she likes being able to get away from the dogs whenever she wants to.

I think I will let the pictures speak for itself as to how much they like it. Since my girl ended up claiming it, I ordered another one for my boy. The top is super soft/cozy/thick, and overall structure is sturdy. It is VERY easy to assemble, and collapses if you need to store it. If I could make one change to it, then it would be making the peek-a-boo holes a little larger so they can play with ball easier. Love these also because they can be used as an ottoman, and due to the color, and style, can fit with most furniture, etc. These also fit nicely by the window, so if your window seals are normal height, the can easily look out the window. The inside has a faux covered panel (that the floor/base), which is not cushioned, so if used as a bed, one of those small throw pillows (not to thick) would fit nicely. Haven’t seen these come in different colors, but luckily my furniture is all earthy colors, so for me, it’s the perfect color. If you babies don’t use the inside, it would be a nice storage for their toys when you are cleaning up, and then they can get them out as needed. Also, if they don’t seem to use it (top/inside), try catnip. YES I WOULD MOST DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS!!!

Before we got this, our cat used to sleep on two cardboard boxes full of my husband’s shirts that we haven’t opened since we moved into our new house. It took a little time and manipulating by taking a box away one day a day moVing his blanket onto the cube the next, but our cat finally sleeps on it! And he seems to love it! We left the favorite of his two boxes out still with a little cover, but he seems to prefer the cube now, and we are happy!A few minor things – within a day of setting the box office our cat chewed through one of the cords holding the play balls, so we now have it as just one of his toys, but the cords definitely will not hold up if your cat likes to chew on strings. Another, our cat is 13 pounds and it seems a little small at the top (he looks squished when he’s sleeping), but the inside is perfect and he loved the inside the very first day.The height is perfect, a little higher than the boxes we originally had. All in all its great and we’re glad he loves it!

My cats love this cube. My larger cat is always inside the cube while the smaller one likes to sit inside. One thing to note is the little toys it came with were gone almost immediately so those didn’t last too longn but the cube itself is awesome.

I loved this when i got it for Christmas for my 4 cats. Howerever in the 3 months they have never scratched the post made for scratching. So the corner is all scratched up. The top attracts hair like crazy. Cleaning it is hard and time consuming. They should think of another material than this suede like material. Satin would be alot more convenient. Maybe the scratch posts should be on the corners.

Within 12 hours of receiving this bed, my cat developed a rash. I took her to her vet, and they confirmed it was most likely from the bed. After taking the bed away, the rash went away as well. This bed is very hard to clean, and I returned it for a refund.

One of my cats was inside this cube within minutes of setting it up. I put it on our screened in porch, and my cat loves to lounge in it and on it while watching the critters and birds outside. I bought this on sale on Amazon but was not able to order more at the sale price a week later, so I ordered four more from another pet supply company where it was still on sale. I would suggest you just buy multiples of this item if you see it on sale on Amazon. I have four cats, and they all gravitate toward these cubes and sleep in them. I have a very shy and nervous cat who likes it. She seems to feel safe in it. The cubes are really well made and very sturdy. My biggest cat is around 15 lbs and he fits comfortably inside it and on top of it.

Louie loves, loves, loves it! As I’ve said before, Louie is a finicky little tabby that I’ve grown to love, so he gets stuff.. The jury was out there for a while but he has finally trained me well.I put this “cat cube” together (took 20 seconds top to assemble, so easy), and literally three seconds later he jumped right in. This is a cat that if he feels you actually purchased a cat toy for him, he becomes offended. I wish I was kidding. Drop a pin or an earbud thing accidentally on the floor and it’s his favorite “toy”forever. So I played it cool and assembled this in a spare room so I didn’t seem too anxious LOL….He loved it. Take it from Louie, my fussy cat–this is a great product. He currently is loving the “top floor”. A day before he liked the inside.

It’s assembled in 5 minutes and actually looks like a piece of luxury cat furniture. Velvet like fabiic with lambs wool on the top and inside. I places it next time one of my heater vents, and it fills the little “caves” with warm air. I saw my Siamese kitten carrying one of her toy mouses into the lower cave and she’s been batting it around in there for a half hour. My oldest and fattest kitty immediately jumped on top and started grooming herself. My third cautious kitty was watching the 2 others explore their new favorite place.

We remodeled our family room and now Little Brother can’t be on the couch or chairs. He needed his own space – I really didn’t think he’d go for this because he is so social and really wants to be with ‘his people.’ He surprised me! He LOVES this Cat Cube. Right when I unpacked it, he wanted to explore it. He loves the little hanging balls, it’s a little place for him to hide away when he wants some alone time, and he loves the little cushy top. It’s tall enough that he feels included in the family, but not so obtrusive that it looks like we’re those crazy cat people. It’s easy to move around if he is dead-set on being by his favorite human of the moment, but it usually stays over by the gas fireplace. Seems sturdy enough, color is neutral enough, nice and soft for long winter naps. This has been a great purchase. Highly recommend.

My kitten rarely ever goes near it. She pretty much never did until I put a flap over the door, but even with that she doesn’t seem overly interested, and prefers to just lay under my bed. Besides that, as far as a cat house goes, it looks great and is easily transported since you can just fold it all back up. The ball that sticks out on the side of the house was a bit annoying though, as you choose wherever you want to place it, versus having a predesignated spot, and you will likely need a couple extra hands to screw it in the side.**UPDATE**My cat is now almost a year old, and loves to play/sleep/hide in this little house! Definitely glad that I made this purchase.**UPDATE**My cat is almost three now, and has managed to break of the dangling ball four times now (bit through the elastic string), and she’s back to barely using it. But that’s cats for you.

At this terrific Prime price…I wasn’t sure what I’d get, but I needed to get rid of the cardboard box with a pillow case on top that my kitty has been sitting on to view the Geckos-Deer-Birds-Frogs-Bugs, etc., from my low-frame windows. It is very well made, super-easy to assemble, and is covered in a dark brown/coffee-chocolate ultra-suede type material…not as rusty brown as it shows on my computer and phone. I like the color better than the one picture! It is heavy and sturdy-feeling, like an ottoman…feels & looks like a piece of furniture. As soon as I started to unwrap the packaging (there are a couple of pom-poms with jingly bells affixed to the side openings) my cat came running…jumped on top, rolled around inside, and has been in or on there ever since. Kudos Midwest!

While it seems the cats know when I am pointing a camera at them and run off… they do like this cubbie. They will either cuddle together inside, or one will lounge on the top resting her head on the pillowy side while the other is inside. And they play often with the hanging ball toys. Was simple to assemble, is sturdy, and a good size with a nice big opening in the front.

I like this cat condo. It is definitely better looking than the ones covered in carpet and it seems very sturdy, too. The cats like to sleep on the top more than they like to be inside. They have been using it as a scratching post but it still looks nice. We have had this for a while. I didn’t think they played with the hanging balls very much, but just last week I found one downstairs, so somebody had batted it around. I would recommend this product.

I bought this house for a stray, not so tame cat that figured out how to use the pet door in order to sleep inside my screened-in porch. I received it and put it together in minutes and then put it on the porch. The next time I looked, the cat was sleeping in it, and he continued to do that throughout our cold and rainy weather. Now that it’s warmer outside temperatures, he’s not huddled inside it as much, but he still uses it.

I was concerned I would be throwing my money away by purchasing this for my 2 finicky cats, but I was tired of them clawing their way to my lap and then my desktop to lay down on my keyboard, and/or taking over my chair when I stepped away for a bit. The cube assembled very easy. I placed it next to my desk, and the cats and I love it. The height is such that I can pet the cat with one hand, (which they want) and use the mouse with the other. They then curl up on the top, happy to be next to me, and snore away. Yesterday, both cats were enjoying it without hissing at each other, one on top and the other inside on the bottom. Obviously the cats find it comfortable, I find it sturdy and well made..They don’t play with the toys, but that is normal for them. It did have a strong odor when I opened the box, which dissipated after a day or two.

This is one of those products that looks really good to me, but the cats are less impressed. It is easy to put together and holds its shape. Maybe the cats don’t like it because there’s not a lot of padding inside, or because the holes in the side don’t allow enough privacy. (My cats are all adults now. Kittens would no doubt enjoy being on either side of the wall, batting through the holes at the kitten on the other side.) I have had this about a year and the cats rarely use it. I just figured out that something else I bought (PAW Enclosed Cube Pet Bed, 13 by 13.5 by 12-Inch) fits exactly inside this Midwest Homes Curious Cat Cube. The other cube bed is soft and squishy, while this one is hard-sided. I am going to try putting the soft one inside the hard one, and see if they use it then.

My cats enjoy lounging on top and inside. They rarely play with the toys attached but I don’t mind that (to each their own). The smell is gone now, but when it arrived the inside of the box smelled almost moldy, it concerned me. It also arrived damp. I let it all air out and the smell and dampness have gone. I put some catnip on top and inside, and ever since, my cats have used it as a frequent resting spot. The white cat (Gavin) on top is ~10lbs. He is my largest cat and he fits inside the cube comfortably.
